"Love, Queens Who Suffer From Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder" tells the stories of seven women (ranging in age, sexuality, and female identity) who each wear a different color, representing different aspects of the marginalized woman: pain, death/rebirth, youth, pride, love, lust, and honesty. In the tradition of "For Colored Girls..." by Ntozake Shange, the first original choreopoem, the actresses of "Love, Queens..." rejoice in sharing compelling tales through music, poetry, and dance in the backdrop of the harsh realities they face every day.
This play is dedicated to and inspired by Ntozake Shange
and anyone who has been affected by gun violence or other issues related to social inequity.
